About Organisation
The Global EbA Fund supports initiatives that advance ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA), helping communities respond to climate change through the protection, restoration and sustainable management of ecosystems. The initiative focuses on removing institutional, technical and financial barriers that prevent promising adaptation approaches from expanding. Its funding encourages collaboration, evidence generation, knowledge exchange and the development of approaches that can be adopted more widely. The fund prioritises projects that connect ecosystem health with climate resilience and community benefits.
About the Grant
The eighth call for Global EbA Fund Small-Size Grants provides funding of up to US$250,000 per project for initiatives lasting up to 24 months. It supports innovative proposals that address barriers to scaling ecosystem-based adaptation, including institutional capacity, technical knowledge, data and evidence, learning networks and investment readiness. The call primarily focuses on eligible small island developing states and least developed countries, while considering proposals from other ODA-eligible countries when they demonstrate exceptional ambition and scaling potential.
Who can Apply?
Eligible applicants may include legally recognised NGOs, international NGOs, intergovernmental organisations, community-based organisations, Indigenous Peoples’ organisations, universities, academic institutions, research institutes, think tanks and qualifying private-sector organisations. Consortia are also welcome. Proposals must address ecosystem-based adaptation, build on existing work, demonstrate innovative or catalytic potential and include appropriate local partnerships. Government entities may participate in partnerships but cannot receive funding directly under the stated rules. Applicants must meet the fund’s due-diligence and financial-capacity requirements.
How to Apply?
Review the official call documentation, grants procedure manual and eligibility checklist on the Global EbA Fund website. Prepare the application form, applicant declaration, partner mandate where applicable, theory of change, logical framework, activity plan, budget and due-diligence documentation. Submit the completed proposal through the designated online platform before the closing date.
