About Organisation

The Future For Nature Foundation (FFN) is committed to empowering the next generation of wildlife conservationists. Rooted in the belief that individuals can create significant change, FFN identifies and supports young, passionate, and determined conservation leaders from across the globe. These individuals are selected for their outstanding achievements in the field of nature conservation and their potential to drive lasting impact. By celebrating personal commitment and leadership in protecting wild species, FFN cultivates a global network of conservation heroes who serve as role models and changemakers.

Every year, FFN honors three young conservationists with the prestigious Future For Nature Award, recognizing their tangible contributions to safeguarding wild flora and fauna. The Foundation not only provides financial support but also international exposure, visibility, and professional networking opportunities. FFN’s initiatives extend beyond the award by building a close-knit community of previous winners and involving students through the Future For Nature Academy, which fosters conservation awareness and engagement through lectures, networking, and events. By putting individuals in the spotlight and equipping them with resources, FFN helps amplify their impact in preserving nature for future generations.

About the Grant

The Future For Nature Award is a globally recognized accolade that celebrates and supports exceptional young conservationists dedicated to protecting wild animal and plant species. Each year, three winners are selected and awarded €50,000 to further their conservation efforts. This award goes beyond a one-time financial grant; it serves as a platform for amplifying the voices of passionate individuals who are making real, measurable change in biodiversity protection.

FFN focuses on individuals rather than projects or organizations, encouraging creative, action-driven solutions to conservation challenges. The grant can be used at the awardee’s discretion, as long as it contributes to the conservation of wild species. FFN ensures that the award is not simply the culmination of one’s work, but a boost to continue, expand, and deepen conservation impact.

Awardees gain international recognition, increased access to funding opportunities, and valuable networking connections. They are also integrated into the FFN Family—a growing, supportive community of past winners—offering a space to collaborate, share insights, and collectively strengthen the global conservation movement. Winners are invited to present their work at the FFN Awards Event in the Netherlands, with travel and accommodation costs fully covered.

Who can Apply?

The Future For Nature Award is open to individuals aged 18 to 35 years, specifically those born between 31st May 1990 and 31st August 2007. The award targets young, passionate conservationists who have made tangible and long-lasting contributions to the protection of wild species of animals or plants.

Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment, clear leadership, innovative approaches, and ethical conduct in their conservation efforts. Their work must already be underway and not just a proposal; FFN is focused on real-life, ongoing contributions—not theoretical or planned projects. The ideal candidate is someone who has initiated meaningful change in wildlife conservation and intends to continue their work into the future.

Applications must be submitted individually—organizations, teams, or programs are not eligible. Applicants must be able to articulate their conservation work clearly and effectively in written and spoken English. Submissions must be written by the applicant themselves, reflecting their unique journey and perspective. AI tools may be used for assistance, but overuse or direct AI-generated content will result in disqualification.

Selected candidates will be shortlisted and may be asked to provide further information, including photos or videos, to support their application for final selection.

How to Apply?

Eligible candidates must submit an application describing their ongoing conservation work, achievements, and impact. The application must be personally written by the candidate, in English, and reflect their conservation vision. Applicants should prepare to provide additional materials if shortlisted. The award is intended for individuals only and not for group or organizational submissions. Ensure your work aligns with the conservation of wild species.
