The International Trans Fund (ITF) is dedicated to supporting trans-led organizations that aim to enhance the lives of the trans community and contribute to trans movement building. Established to empower diverse groups, the ITF prioritizes those facing heightened marginalization, including those affected by racism, classism, ageism, ableism, and misogyny. By providing essential funding and resources, the ITF fosters social and economic justice, while advocating for the liberation and rights of trans individuals across various identities and regions.
About the Grant
The ITF is excited to announce the opening of its 9th grant cycle, offering funding to trans-led organizations focused on movement building and community empowerment. The funding priorities emphasize a diverse array of groups engaged in various strategies and issues. The ITF offers two types of grants: the SEED Grant for new applicants and the THRIVE Grant for previously funded organizations in good standing. Both grants support activities that promote awareness, advocacy, and skill development to advance the trans movement and enhance community resilience.
Who can Apply?
To be eligible for ITF funding, organizations must be trans-led, meaning that trans individuals hold decision-making roles and comprise at least 75% of the staff and leadership. Eligible groups must have an operating budget under $100,000 and be focused on benefiting the trans community. The organization’s work must contribute to movement building rather than just providing direct services. Ineligible applicants include individuals, non-trans-led organizations, and those with operating budgets exceeding $100,000.
How to Apply?
Interested organizations should submit their grant applications by the deadline. The application should clearly outline how the organization meets the eligibility criteria and the proposed activities to support the trans community.
