The Foundations of Water Resource Planning: Guidance for Establishing Water Utility Service Levels (5306)
Application Deadline:
November 21, 2024
About Organisation
The Water Research Foundation (WRF) is a prominent research organization dedicated to advancing water science to meet the evolving needs of its subscribers and the broader water sector. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization, WRF focuses on funding, managing, and disseminating research related to the technology, operation, and management of drinking water, wastewater, reuse, and stormwater systems. Its mission is to enhance water quality and improve public water services through evidence-based solutions and industry best practices.
About the Grant
This grant addresses the critical need for water utility service levels, which are essential for effective water resource planning and utility operations. Establishing service levels is crucial for guiding investment decisions, operational management, and customer service standards. Despite the importance of service levels, utilities often lack comprehensive guidance on establishing and communicating them. This project aims to create a framework that utilities can use to develop or enhance their service levels, incorporating best practices and aligning them with organizational performance goals. The framework will also address stakeholder engagement and communication strategies to ensure alignment and understanding across communities and utility staff.
Who can Apply?
Proposals are invited from both U.S.-based and international entities, including educational institutions, research organizations, governmental agencies, consultants, and for-profit entities. Eligible applicants must demonstrate expertise in water resource planning and management. A clear understanding of the water sector and its challenges, particularly in establishing effective service levels, is essential for applicants seeking to contribute to this project.
