About the Grant
The EQT Foundation Science Grants Program supports high-risk, high-impact scientific research aimed at reducing dependence on critical minerals required for the green transition. The grant focuses on deeptech solutions that can replace or significantly reduce the use of scarce and strategic raw materials in climate technologies such as batteries, motors, photovoltaics, and power electronics. Designed to move bold ideas from lab to market, the program provides non-dilutive funding and access to EQT’s global expert network. Applications are open until 25 February 2026.
Who can Apply?
The grant is open to scientists and researchers affiliated with accredited nonprofit institutions worldwide. Applicants should be working on frontier scientific research with strong translational and commercialization potential in climate-related deeptech fields. Eligible projects must focus on alternatives to critical minerals, including earth-abundant materials, rare-earth-free technologies, or circular and recycling-based substitutes. Proposals should demonstrate high impact potential, technical ambition, and relevance to scalable green transition technologies. Individual researchers or research teams may apply, provided they meet institutional affiliation requirements.
How to Apply?
Applications open on 27 January 2026 and must be submitted through the EQT Foundation application process. Proposals will be evaluated by scientific and technical experts, followed by interviews for shortlisted candidates. Final selections will be announced after the review process. All applications must be completed and submitted before 25 February 2026.
