About Organisation

Founded in 1992, the ENGIE Corporate Foundation is dedicated to advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Every year, it supports over a hundred projects worldwide, with a strong focus on renewable energy, biodiversity conservation, education, and poverty alleviation. By 2024, 50% of its initiatives will be dedicated to sustainable energy access and environmental preservation. The foundation prioritizes projects under its “Planet for People” approach, addressing the needs of vulnerable and remote populations while promoting sustainability.

Committed to fostering positive change, the ENGIE Foundation seeks to find innovative solutions to global challenges such as climate change, migration, biodiversity loss, energy access, and poverty. By mobilizing resources and working collaboratively, the foundation aims to drive impactful projects that create long-term benefits. ENGIE employees worldwide share this vision, reinforcing the foundation’s mission of sustainability, social inclusion, and global well-being. The ENGIE Foundation stands as a beacon of hope, encouraging optimism and collective action to build a better future.

About the Grant

The ENGIE Foundation primarily focuses on supporting children and young people in need, fostering their growth and inclusion through culture, education, health, and sports. The foundation believes that investing in children today will shape a better world for tomorrow. Over the years, it has expanded its scope to include access to energy for all and biodiversity conservation, recognizing these as crucial factors for sustainable development.

In response to the growing frequency of climate-related disasters, such as those in Haiti, the foundation has allocated part of its budget to emergency assistance. Additionally, with rising global migration, it has committed to aiding migrants and refugees affected by economic, political, or environmental factors. A significant portion of its initiatives also focuses on empowering women, who play a pivotal role in community development and family well-being. The ENGIE Foundation finances projects led by organizations that align with its key intervention areas: childhood and youth, access to energy and biodiversity, and poverty alleviation through employment integration.

Who can Apply?

Organizations eligible for the ENGIE Foundation grant include declared private or public entities, associations, companies, and NGOs that align with the foundation’s mission. These organizations should be legally registered and capable of executing impactful projects in one or more of the foundation’s focus areas. The grant supports initiatives related to childhood and youth empowerment, sustainable energy access, biodiversity conservation, and social inclusion through employment.

However, the foundation does not fund one-time events such as festivals, concerts, exhibitions, or conferences. Additionally, it does not support personal or non-associative projects, including individual study trips, scholarships, university theses, internships, or editorial and film production projects. Projects that fall under the ENGIE Agir Pour L’Emploi (FAPE) Foundation or those intended for promotional or advertising purposes are also ineligible for funding. Organizations seeking support must present projects with a clear societal impact, particularly benefiting vulnerable communities and sustainable development.
