About Organisation

Grassroots Research and Advocacy Movement (GRAAM) is an India-based think-and-act tank dedicated to development research and public policy engagement. Since its inception, GRAAM has focused on ensuring that the voices of communities at the grassroots are represented in the national development discourse. The organisation collaborates with government institutions, civil society organisations, corporates, and citizens to drive inclusive, evidence-based change. Its work spans key areas such as policy research, program evaluation, community development, and impact consultation. GRAAM’s interdisciplinary approach combines academic research with practical field engagement to co-create sustainable development solutions. With a strong emphasis on participatory governance and public accountability, GRAAM has built partnerships across sectors to promote transparent, data-driven, and community-led decision-making. The organisation also conducts extensive academic and professional training to strengthen public policy understanding among young professionals, social innovators, and institutions.

About the Grant

The Embark India Development Fellowship is a national initiative by GRAAM designed to position young professionals at the intersection of governance, policy, and community development. The fellowship aligns with India’s Viksit Bharat@2047 vision, equipping fellows to engage directly with public systems and contribute to impactful, evidence-based policy implementation. Fellows will be placed within key government departments, public institutions, and development agencies where they will co-create policy strategies, conduct field research, and support innovative governance reforms. The program combines academic learning, mentorship, and field immersion to cultivate a deep understanding of India’s policy ecosystem. Through rigorous training in development theory, governance systems, and participatory research, fellows will gain practical insights and leadership experience. The fellowship aims to nurture professionals capable of bridging the gap between policy design and grassroots realities while advancing inclusive and sustainable development.
