About Organisation

Echoing Green is a pioneering global organization committed to advancing social justice and innovation by identifying and supporting emerging leaders with transformative ideas. For over three decades, it has been at the forefront of fostering social change by equipping bold leaders with the resources, knowledge, and networks needed to challenge systemic inequalities. At the intersection of social innovation and justice, Echoing Green provides seed funding, mentorship, and leadership development to visionaries whose work addresses pressing challenges across diverse sectors, including climate justice, education, health, and human rights.

Through its fellowship and other initiatives, Echoing Green nurtures changemakers at the earliest stages of their entrepreneurial journeys, ensuring that they not only launch impactful ventures but also sustain their work over time. Fellows are welcomed into a lifelong, global community of leaders who collaborate, share experiences, and support one another in advancing equity worldwide. Echoing Green’s holistic model—encompassing funding, expert guidance, and wellbeing support—empowers leaders to design innovative, community-centered solutions. Its mission is clear: to cultivate leaders who can imagine and build a world that does not yet exist, one where justice, equity, and opportunity are universally accessible, and systemic barriers no longer hinder human potential.

About the Grant

The Echoing Green 2026 Fellowship is a premier program designed to support visionary leaders who are building early-stage organizations to address critical social and environmental challenges. This fellowship seeks individuals who are deeply connected to the issues they aim to solve, reflecting the lived experiences of their communities and designing solutions in collaboration with them.

Fellows receive an 18-month stipend of USD 100,000, provided as seed funding to launch or strengthen their initiatives. For-profit organizations receive funding in the form of recoverable grants, while nonprofit leaders access unrestricted capital to scale their efforts. Beyond financial support, the fellowship includes extensive leadership development programming, wellness and wellbeing resources, pro-bono professional services, and access to a powerful global community of peers and experts.

Echoing Green emphasizes capacity building through comprehensive leadership training, personalized guidance from experts, and opportunities to connect with business and social sector leaders. Fellows also participate in both virtual and in-person convenings to build lasting relationships and collaborative opportunities.

By investing in early-stage entrepreneurs, the Echoing Green Fellowship accelerates ideas into sustainable organizations that tackle urgent challenges, ultimately striving to create a more just, equitable, and thriving world.

Who can Apply?

The Echoing Green Fellowship is open to bold, committed leaders and early-stage organizations tackling pressing social issues. Applicants must be 18 years or older by June 1, 2026, and able to communicate proficiently in English to participate in all programming and support offerings. Reasonable accommodations are available for applicants with visual, hearing, or speech impairments.

Applicants must be original founders of their organizations, meaning they created or are launching the initiative. Leaders must hold decision-making power and cannot have assumed leadership after an organization’s founding. Both sole founders and leading co-founders are eligible. Organizations must operate independently, even if fiscally sponsored, provided the fiscal sponsor does not exercise decision-making authority.

Eligible organizations are typically early-stage, defined as those with fewer than five years of full-time operations or those still requiring significant resources to grow. Organizations already possessing comprehensive infrastructure—such as strategic plans, funding sources, governance boards, and fully defined program models—may not qualify as early-stage.

The fellowship is designed for entrepreneurs whose ventures are still building their foundation, need resources to grow, and aim to address systemic inequality. Applicants should embody deep knowledge of their communities and work to co-design transformative, justice-oriented solutions.

How to Apply?

Applicants must complete an online application, detailing their leadership background, organizational mission, and proposed impact. The selection process includes a rigorous review followed by interviews for shortlisted candidates. Applications should highlight the originality of the idea, the founder’s role, and alignment with social innovation goals. Early-stage organizations that need resources and capacity-building support are strongly encouraged to apply before the deadline.

Application Deadline

The application deadline for the Echoing Green 2026 Fellowship is September 30, 2025. All interested candidates must submit their applications before this date to be considered for review.
