The develoPPP Classic program is a funding instrument of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). With operations spanning more than 60 countries worldwide, develoPPP Classic ensures that private sector involvement also contributes directly to global development goals. The develoPPP Classic funding program supports companies aiming to expand sustainably into developing or emerging economies while delivering clear benefits for local communities. Projects under this grant are designed to combine business objectives with social and environmental impact. Funding is available for initiatives that include building local capacity through vocational training, piloting innovative business models or technologies, introducing sustainability certifications, expanding environmentally responsible supply chains, and improving overall social and environmental standards.

The grant finances projects with budgets ranging from €100,000 to €2 million, covering up to 50% of eligible costs. Along with financial support, companies also gain access to valuable expertise, advisory services, and international partnerships through BMZ’s implementation partners DEG Impulse gGmbH and GIZ GmbH. This ensures that funded projects are equipped with technical know-how and a strong foundation for long-term success.

Funding opportunities are awarded through competitive calls for proposals held twice a year, ensuring that only high-impact and well-structured initiatives are supported.
