The Climate Investment Funds (CIF), established in collaboration with six major multilateral development banks (MDBs), drives impactful climate action across the globe. Working alongside institutions like the World Bank Group, African Development Bank, and Asian Development Bank, CIF finances transformative projects addressing clean energy, climate resilience, and nature-based solutions. As a leader in global climate finance, CIF partners with diverse stakeholders to design and implement locally relevant and sustainable solutions. With a focus on inclusivity, the CIF Youth Fellowship, launched in 2023, empowers young professionals in select countries to contribute directly to climate initiatives. The fellowship reflects CIF’s mission to integrate young talent into the core of climate action, fostering leadership and innovation in tackling environmental challenges.

About the Fellowship

The CIF Youth Fellowship is a one-year career development initiative for residents of Brazil, Ghana, India, Papua New Guinea, and Türkiye. It provides hands-on experience in CIF-financed climate projects, allowing participants to work on transformative solutions within their own countries. Fellows engage in activities ranging from project design to implementation, addressing thematic areas like clean energy, climate resilience, and social inclusion. The program offers tailored training, professional mentorship, and global networking opportunities, ensuring comprehensive personal and professional development. Fellows also participate in cohort-based learning, fostering peer exchange and shared insights into diverse approaches to climate finance.

Who can Apply?

Eligible candidates must be aged 18-28 and residents of Brazil, Ghana, India, Papua New Guinea, or Türkiye with valid work authorization. Applicants should hold or be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. Fluency in English and the local working language is essential, along with strong writing skills. Candidates must demonstrate passion and prior exposure to climate action, as well as the ability to work independently. The program aims for equitable representation across race, ethnicity, gender identities, and marginalized groups.
