About Organisation

ComMutiny – The Youth Collective (CYC) is a network that nurtures and supports young changemakers across India. Since 2005, its flagship initiative, Changelooms, has incubated over 750 youth-led organizations and initiatives tackling issues of social justice, equality, and sustainability. The program provides an enabling ecosystem for young leaders to experiment, learn, and scale their ideas for social change. By fostering collaboration between civil society, movements, institutions, and young practitioners, ComMutiny works to create a safe and supportive environment for meaningful youth engagement.

Changelooms emphasizes peer learning, leadership development, and grassroots action while focusing on diverse themes, including gender justice, education, climate change, and community well-being. Through its collaborations with knowledge and ecosystem partners such as vartaLeap, Pravah, Dhriiti, Bindi International, Wild Tales, and Rainmatter Foundation, it offers changemakers the tools, mentorship, and exposure they need to amplify their impact. With a strong belief in the power of youth, ComMutiny continues to act as a catalyst for building inclusive, climate-positive, and socially just communities.

About the Grant

The Changelooms – Youth Leaders in Climate Action (Cohort 5) fellowship invites young leaders and organizations to participate in a three-year leadership journey focused on building climate-positive communities. This incubation program equips emerging social entrepreneurs with skills, mentorship, financial resources, and opportunities to amplify their climate-focused initiatives.

The program structure includes 18 months of intensive leadership development, followed by an additional 18 months of incubation support, ensuring that changemakers have long-term guidance to scale their impact. Selected fellows receive up to INR 2,00,000 in financial support alongside mentorship from some of India’s leading social sector experts from the vartaLeap coalition.

Participants also benefit from exposure visits to impactful field sites, networking with climate and social change leaders, and opportunities to present their work on national platforms. The initiative not only strengthens organizational capacity but also nurtures youth leaders to design innovative and sustainable solutions for pressing climate challenges.

By joining Changelooms, youth-led organizations become part of a vibrant ecosystem that values collaboration, knowledge exchange, and grassroots innovation, helping them grow as resilient leaders committed to long-term climate action and community transformation.
