About Organisation
The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada) is an independent, non-partisan, not-for-profit organization committed to advancing Canada’s engagement with Asia. Established to strengthen ties and foster deeper understanding between Canada and the Indo-Pacific, APF Canada operates as a key platform for research, dialogue, and policy development. Its focus spans across issues of trade, innovation, sustainability, security, and technological advancements, ensuring that Canada’s interests are effectively positioned in an increasingly interconnected world. Through partnerships with governments, institutions, and civil society, APF Canada helps identify opportunities and challenges shaping relations across the Indo-Pacific. Supported by Global Affairs Canada, the Foundation brings together diverse stakeholders to promote collaboration, knowledge exchange, and practical research. Its Indo-Pacific Initiative emphasizes regional cooperation and policy-relevant research that supports Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy, enhancing resilience in areas such as energy, technology, and critical resources. APF Canada’s role is not just to conduct research, but also to convene, connect, and create actionable insights that foster stronger, more sustainable relationships. By funding joint initiatives, the organization contributes to advancing regional security, economic resilience, and long-term prosperity while creating pathways for Canadian institutions and researchers to work alongside partners across Asia.
