About Organisation

The India Humanitarian Hub (IHH) is a national platform hosted by the Sustainable Environment and Ecological Development Society (SEEDS), a non-profit organization dedicated to building resilient communities. SEEDS works across India to enhance disaster preparedness, climate adaptation, and sustainable development. Through the IHH, it brings together humanitarian actors, policymakers, innovators, and community organizations to strengthen collective emergency response and promote innovation in disaster management. The Hub serves as a knowledge-sharing and coordination platform to improve preparedness and recovery systems at local and national levels. Its mission is to build stronger, safer, and more equitable communities by fostering collaboration between grassroots innovators, civil society, and humanitarian agencies. By supporting inclusive, locally led approaches, the IHH aims to transform India’s humanitarian landscape, ensuring that disaster response and climate resilience efforts are both community-driven and technologically forward.

About the Grant

The Call for Innovations: India Humanitarian Hub Initiative invites applications from innovators, organizations, and institutions developing creative solutions to enhance community resilience and disaster preparedness. This initiative focuses on identifying, supporting, and scaling impactful ideas that address humanitarian challenges such as disaster risk reduction, climate adaptation, gender-sensitive resilience, and community-based response mechanisms. The selected projects will receive targeted support to test, refine, or scale their innovations through mentorship, funding, and visibility under the India Humanitarian Hub network. Proposals may include early warning systems, nature-based resilience models, disaster-resilient housing, or digital tools for emergency coordination. The initiative prioritizes ideas that are practical, sustainable, and community-centric. By supporting innovations that merge traditional wisdom with modern technology, the program aims to strengthen India’s humanitarian ecosystem and encourage cross-sector collaboration among NGOs, social enterprises, and grassroots organizations.
