About the Grant
Breakthrough T1D offers a variety of grant mechanisms to support transformative research addressing the many challenges of type 1 diabetes. As the world’s leading nonprofit funder of T1D research, the organization provides funding to researchers globally, connecting their work to accelerate the development of effective therapies and potential cures. Three key funding mechanisms are available: Strategic Research Agreements (SRAs), Clinical SRAs, and Innovative Grants. SRAs support research targeting critical scientific gaps. Clinical SRAs focus on clinical trials and patient-oriented studies, aiming to develop new treatments and monitoring tools. Innovative Grants provide seed funding for high-risk, high-reward projects that have the potential to shift existing paradigms or lead to groundbreaking discoveries. These funding opportunities aim to attract innovative proposals with a strong focus on mission relevance, scientific significance, and feasibility.
