Auster Fund for emerging Creators in India

Application Deadline:
16th June 2025
About Organisation
Auster is a platform dedicated to empowering India’s creative community by offering support structures often missing from traditional institutions. It recognizes the unique challenges faced by emerging artists who are experimenting with innovative formats, defying norms, and preserving cultural heritage. Auster positions itself not just as a funding body, but as a community-driven initiative aimed at cultivating creative excellence. By combining mentorship, exposure, and financial backing, Auster aims to bridge the gap between artistic ambition and achievable execution. Their mission is to ensure that powerful creative ideas don’t remain confined to personal journals or lost in social media noise due to lack of support. Auster believes in investing in culture-makers — those who are redefining art and storytelling in India — and strives to build a nurturing environment where creators can shape legacies on their own terms. The platform celebrates originality, public engagement, and the ability to push artistic boundaries, providing emerging talent with the tools and community needed to thrive.
About the Grant
The Auster Fund is designed to empower Indian creators with the necessary resources and mentorship to bring ambitious ideas to life. The grant supports projects across a wide spectrum of artistic disciplines including visual, audio, time-based, and multimedia works, encompassing fine art, music, design, film, performance, and more. Over a four-month period, selected creators receive both financial support and professional development opportunities, including promotional features through Auster’s digital platforms and four specialized sessions with experienced industry professionals. The fund places a strong emphasis on originality, public relevance, and impactful storytelling. By paying the full amount upfront, Auster ensures recipients have immediate access to the tools they need to produce and present their work. The initiative is a response to the ongoing struggle of artists who often lack institutional backing despite producing culturally significant and innovative work. Through this fund, Auster aims to nurture bold and transformative projects that have the potential to shape India’s cultural narrative.
