AVPN also works closely with government agencies and international foundations to scale promising initiatives and to influence policy for systemic change.
About the Grant
The Asia Gender Equality Fund is an ambitious initiative by AVPN, launched in 2023 with support from Fondation CHANEL, Gates Foundation, KKR, and members of AVPN’s Asia Gender Network. The fund aims to raise and deploy USD 25 million over five years to empower women and girls across Asia by supporting nonprofit organisations working on transformative, scalable, and impactful solutions.
Now in its third round, the fund has already provided multi-year, flexible funding to ten nonprofits across the Asia Pacific region. Round Three focuses on the intersection of gender and climate change. It is designed to fund initiatives that address the disproportionate impact of climate change on women and girls, while also advancing their economic empowerment.
The current funding round will support nonprofits working in areas such as building climate resilience, enabling participation in the green economy, supporting climate-affected communities, and advocating for gender inclusion in climate-related initiatives. The fund provides more than just financial assistance—it also offers access to networking opportunities and capacity-building support, allowing grantees to grow, collaborate, and scale their impact effectively. This initiative aims to back bold, gender-just climate actions that uplift women and girls while addressing the urgent challenges of our changing climate.
