About Organisation

The Women in STEM and Entrepreneurship (WISE) Program is an Australian Government initiative designed to advance gender equity across science, technology, engineering and mathematics. It supports organisations that create pathways for girls and women to enter, grow, and lead in STEM and innovative industries. By funding evidence-based, collaborative and community-focused projects, the program aims to dismantle systemic and cultural barriers, strengthen opportunities for leadership, and expand access to entrepreneurship. WISE also encourages organisations to co-design initiatives that build skills, reduce discrimination, address intersectional barriers, and increase representation of women in senior roles across government, academia, industry and business.

About the Grant

The WISE Round 5 grant supports large-scale projects that increase awareness, participation and leadership of girls and women in STEM education, careers and entrepreneurship. With a total funding pool of $9.77 million, the program offers grants between AUD 1 million and AUD 2 million for initiatives that address systemic inequalities, strengthen women’s pathways into innovation ecosystems, and promote senior leadership opportunities. Projects may focus on skill-building, reducing cultural and structural barriers, enhancing STEM career pipelines, and supporting entrepreneurship for diverse groups of women. The aim is to create long-term, sustainable impact across Australia’s innovation and STEM ecosystems.
