About Organisation
Tipperary County Council Arts Office supports the development of high-quality arts and cultural activity across County Tipperary. Through public funding programmes, it encourages meaningful engagement with the arts at community and educational levels. The Arts Office works closely with artists, schools, and local organisations to promote creativity, learning, and cultural participation. By prioritising collaboration, artistic excellence, and accessibility, Tipperary County Council plays a key role in strengthening arts education and fostering long-term engagement with creative practice among young people and local communities.
About the Grant
The Artist in Primary Schools Scheme 2026 supports a once-off, collaborative creative project between a professional artist and a primary school in County Tipperary. The programme enables pupils to engage directly with professional arts practice through age-appropriate, curriculum-aware projects. Each project is artist-led, time-bound, and focused on the creative process rather than standard school productions. Projects may take place between March–June or September–December 2026 and must be completed by the end of the year, following written approval from the Arts Office.
Who can Apply?
Eligible applicants include primary schools located in County Tipperary and professional practicing artists working in partnership with those schools. Schools may submit only one application and must not have received funding under this scheme in 2024 or 2025. Artists from all disciplines are eligible, provided they can demonstrate relevant qualifications or professional experience, submit a CV and work samples, and have appropriate safeguarding policies. Only one application per artist is permitted, and confirmed collaboration between artist and school is mandatory.
How to Apply?
The artist and school must jointly develop a project proposal before applying. Applications must include a completed form, detailed project proposal, artist CV, work samples, a letter of support from the school, and safeguarding documentation. All applications must be clearly labelled and submitted by the stated deadline. Late or incomplete applications will not be assessed.
Application Deadline
Applications for the Artist in Primary Schools Scheme 2026 must be submitted by 6 February 2026 at 12:00 noon. Applications received after this time will not be considered.
