About Organisation
The Kshirsagar Apte Foundation is an Indian family foundation established in 2013 that supports initiatives across education and employability, gender, environment and sustainability, arts and culture, disabilities and health. One of its programmes focuses on citizen-led initiatives addressing civic issues in Mumbai. Through Mumbai Ekatra, the foundation brings community groups, institutions and organisations together to develop practical solutions for a more sustainable and inclusive city. The fifth season, Going Green, focuses specifically on environmental sustainability and encourages locally driven ideas that can contribute to greener urban communities.
About the Grant
Mumbai Ekatra – Going Green 2026 is a grant programme supporting citizen-led environmental sustainability projects in Mumbai. The initiative invites community groups, institutions and organisations to propose practical projects that contribute to a greener and more sustainable city. Supported activities can address issues such as water conservation, urban agriculture, green infrastructure, recycling, waste management and inclusive community practices. Grants of up to ₹1 lakh are available for selected projects. The programme is part of Season 5 of Mumbai Ekatra and is designed to encourage collaboration and locally driven environmental action.
