About the Grant

The Community Strengthening Grants Program 2026 provides grants of up to AUD 7,000 to support community-led projects that improve wellbeing, inclusion, and environmental sustainability throughout the Golden Plains Shire. Funding is available under three streams: Healthy Connected Community, Community Inclusion, and Environment and Sustainability. Supported initiatives may focus on community health, volunteering, disaster preparedness, mental wellbeing, biodiversity conservation, climate action, accessibility, and social participation. The program encourages innovative projects that respond to local needs, strengthen partnerships, and create measurable, long-term benefits for communities while promoting resilience and sustainable development across the region.

Who can Apply?

Eligible applicants include incorporated not-for-profit organisations, community groups, schools, kindergartens, Committees of Management, community committees, and local branches of organisations such as CFA and SES. Community groups without incorporation may apply through an auspice organisation. Applicants must have at least two active members or demonstrate active partnerships with local organisations. Projects must be delivered within the Golden Plains Shire or clearly benefit its residents. Schools must show collaboration with another organisation and ensure projects extend beyond curriculum activities. Government organisations and agencies are generally ineligible to apply under this funding program.
