About Organisation
Unitaid works to close the global gap in access to lifesaving health products for people in low- and middle-income countries. Every year, millions die from preventable and treatable diseases because timely and accurate diagnostic tools remain out of reach. Unitaid was established to address this inequality by investing in innovative health solutions that reduce costs, speed up delivery, and create sustainable impact. By collaborating with governments, global health partners, and affected communities, Unitaid drives large-scale adoption of tools that improve diagnosis, treatment, and care. Its portfolio spans HIV, TB, malaria, cervical cancer, hepatitis, and broader public health preparedness, with a strong focus on building resilient, equitable health systems.
About the Grant
Unitaid is inviting proposals for initiatives that expand access to integrated diagnostic tools and delivery approaches across low- and middle-income countries. The programme aims to accelerate equitable access to effective, affordable, and innovative diagnostic solutions that can detect multiple diseases at or near the point of care. These investments will help strengthen routine health services and prepare systems for emerging health threats. Nearly half of the world’s population lacks proper access to diagnostics, resulting in delayed care, inappropriate treatment, and preventable deaths. This funding seeks to address these gaps by supporting evidence generation, adoption of molecular and integrated testing tools, and scalable models that can be implemented across nations. Proposed projects should demonstrate a clear pathway from evidence to policy for national and regional uptake.
Who can Apply?
Eligible applicants include organizations with the capacity to operate across four to five countries, preferably in low- and middle-income regions. Applicants should demonstrate strong partnerships with governments, national programs, and community-led organizations. Proposals must show technical expertise in diagnostics, health systems strengthening, and multi-country program implementation. Experience working with molecular diagnostics, integrated delivery models, or multi-disease platforms is highly preferred. Organizations must have the capability to generate feasibility and impact evidence, contribute to policy processes, and facilitate adoption at scale. Collaboration with stakeholders in affected communities and alignment with national health priorities are essential for strong proposals.
How to Apply?
Applicants must submit a full proposal by 19 January 2026, 12:00 noon CET. Submissions should detail objectives, implementation models, partnerships, evidence-generation plans, and anticipated scalability pathways. Proposals must demonstrate alignment with Unitaid’s focus on integrated diagnostics and multi-country implementation. Late applications will not be considered. Full application instructions are provided within the official Unitaid call documents.
