About Organisation
IIM Kozhikode LIVE is the incubator and entrepreneurship development centre of IIM Kozhikode, established in June 2016 with support from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The centre works as an on-campus business incubator focused on promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and new venture creation. It aims to function as a national hub that helps transform promising ideas into scalable businesses with strong economic and social impact. Leveraging IIM Kozhikode’s faculty, students, alumni, research base, and institutional networks, it supports startups through mentorship, resources, and ecosystem partnerships.
About the Grant
The USHUS Seed Grant Program is a maritime startup support initiative led by IIMK LIVE in association with Cochin Shipyard Limited. It provides seed grant-based funding to early-stage startups across India working in maritime and allied sectors. The programme is designed to help innovators convert ideas into viable and scalable ventures by supporting product development, validation, and early growth. Selected startups can receive seed funding of up to ₹30 lakh to accelerate their journey from concept, prototype, or MVP stage toward market readiness. The initiative strengthens maritime innovation through funding and institutional support.
Who can Apply?
The grant is open to startups based in India working in the maritime or allied sectors. Eligible applicants include early-stage ventures at the idea, prototype, or Minimum Viable Product (MVP) stage. Startups must align with the objectives of the USHUS Maritime Startup Support Program and demonstrate potential to build impactful solutions relevant to the maritime ecosystem. Applicants should be prepared to use the seed grant for product development, testing, validation, and early-stage business growth. Proposals that show innovation, feasibility, and sector relevance will be best positioned for selection.
