About Organisation
Global Citizen is a leading international advocacy platform working toward the eradication of extreme poverty. It mobilizes millions worldwide to take collective action on critical issues such as poverty, climate change, and inequality. The organization empowers individuals to become changemakers by understanding and addressing systemic inequities — racial, gender, economic, and environmental — that perpetuate poverty. Through campaigns, partnerships, and global mobilization, Global Citizen leverages the power of voices and advocacy to influence governments, businesses, and citizens alike to take measurable action. Believing that when people unite, meaningful change follows, Global Citizen continues to drive global efforts toward achieving a world where every individual has the opportunity to thrive with dignity, education, and equality.
About the Grant
The FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund aims to expand access to quality education and sports for children in underserved communities. A collaboration between FIFA and Global Citizen, the fund supports grassroots initiatives that combine education and sport to foster learning, empowerment, and inclusion. By connecting the worlds of sport, culture, and philanthropy, the program strengthens literacy, improves learning outcomes, and creates equitable access to educational opportunities. It provides one-year grants ranging from USD 50,000 to USD 250,000 to organizations working with children and youth globally. Approximately 150 organizations will receive funding in the first cycle (2026). The fund encourages sustainable, measurable impact and emphasizes mid-term and final reporting to ensure accountability and long-term progress in advancing education and community development worldwide.
Who can Apply?
Eligible applicants include community-based, grassroots organizations serving between 500 and 10,000 individuals, working in education or sports development. Organizations may apply for either General Operating Support or Program/Project Support, but the requested amount must be less than 50% of the organization’s annual budget for the proposed grant year. The grants are one-time awards valid for one year only, and recipients cannot reapply in subsequent cycles. Applicants must demonstrate clear community impact and organizational capacity to manage funds effectively. Applications will be screened, and selected applicants may be invited for discussions with Fund officials. Reporting requirements include mid-term and final performance submissions to ensure transparent use of funds and measurable outcomes in education and youth development.
How to Apply?
Applications can be submitted in English (other languages to be added soon). Only one application per organization is allowed. After submission, applicants receive confirmation and may be contacted by Fund staff before the deadline for clarifications. Shortlisted applicants may be invited for interviews with Fund officials.
Application Deadline
Applications must be submitted by 31 December 2025.
