About Organisation

The Center for Global Women’s Health and Gender Equity at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health was established in 2023 to address critical challenges related to women’s health and gender equity worldwide. The Center brings together practitioners, researchers, and advocates through applied research and training. Its work focuses on eliminating gender-based violence, transforming gendered power dynamics, and strengthening health systems for equity. By generating and translating high-quality evidence, the Center supports communities and policymakers with data-driven solutions to advance women’s health and social justice, particularly in low- and middle-income country contexts.

About the Grant

The Gender Equity/GBV Evidence Accelerator Fellowship is a year-long, part-time cohort programme designed for professionals engaged in gender equity and gender-based violence work. The fellowship builds skills in evidence generation, analysis, synthesis, and translation through coursework, mentorship, and collaborative learning. Fellows complete a mini-project related to gender equity or GBV, such as data analysis or evidence synthesis, with faculty support. The programme includes virtual engagement and limited in-person convenings, fostering networking and professional growth while strengthening evidence-based practice and policy impact.

Who can Apply?

The fellowship is open to practitioners, researchers, and scholars from low- and middle-income countries who are actively working in gender equity or GBV-related fields. Eligible applicants include PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, junior faculty, and professionals involved in research, monitoring and evaluation, or programme implementation. Applicants must demonstrate some research experience and familiarity with data analysis or statistical tools. Current master’s students are not eligible. Proficiency in written and spoken English is required, as all fellowship activities are conducted in English.

How to Apply?

Applicants must submit their fellowship application by the stated deadline, completing all required forms and providing requested information on their professional background, experience in gender equity or GBV, and motivation for applying. The application process assesses applicants’ alignment with the fellowship goals, research interests, and need for evidence-building skills. Shortlisted candidates will be selected based on merit, relevance of experience, and potential impact of participation.

Application Deadline

Applications for the Gender Equity/GBV Evidence Accelerator Fellowship must be submitted by mid-January 2026 to be considered for the upcoming cohort. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
