Eklavya is a non-profit organisation working to strengthen education through innovative programmes and resource development. Operating through a network of education resource centres in Madhya Pradesh, it develops and field-tests learner-centred teaching methodologies. About the Grant
The Eklavya Fellowship supports the publication of Srote Features, a weekly science and technology feature service for Hindi newspapers and magazines, active since 1989. Fellows will contribute to writing, editing, proofreading, and translating science content from English to Hindi. Responsibilities include preparing weekly dispatches, managing email distribution to newspapers, updating databases, assisting with coordination and administrative tasks, and supporting social media outreach. The fellowship provides hands-on exposure to science communication and publishing processes. Selected fellows will receive a monthly stipend of ₹10,000–₹12,000 while contributing to accessible, high-quality popular science content for a broad readership.
Who can Apply?
Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in reading and writing about popular science and scientific research. Fluency in spoken and written Hindi is essential, while proficiency in English is desirable, especially for translation work. Candidates must be open to learning creative, editorial, and administrative skills within the publishing field. A graduate degree in any discipline of science is preferred but not mandatory. Applicants should be detail-oriented, capable of handling editing and coordination tasks, and willing to support both content creation and institutional responsibilities associated with magazine publication and communication activities.
