About Organisation

D-Prize is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to evidence-based poverty solutions globally. Its mission is to seed new social ventures that can scale proven interventions and reduce extreme poverty. Recognizing that many innovators, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, lack access to startup capital, D-Prize provides philanthropic seed funding to help launch new NGOs, charities, and social enterprises. The organization’s vision is to make existing, high-impact solutions universally available to communities most in need, ensuring that cost-effective interventions reach underserved populations worldwide. D-Prize’s approach emphasizes measurable outcomes, scalability, and sustainability in addressing the root causes of poverty.

About the Grant

The D-Prize Grant aims to support entrepreneurs and organizations launching scalable, evidence-based solutions to combat extreme poverty. It offers startup grants of up to USD 20,000 to seed new ventures that distribute proven interventions across key sectors such as health, water, agriculture, livelihoods, energy, education, and public services. The grant is open to both nonprofit and for-profit entities working in low- and middle-income countries. Applicants can choose from one of the D-Prize challenge areas or propose a custom solution that addresses a critical poverty-related gap. The initiative seeks innovative leaders capable of building sustainable models that bring life-improving products and services to those who need them most.

Who can Apply?

D-Prize invites applications from aspiring social entrepreneurs and new organizations focused on distributing proven poverty solutions. Most awardees are first-time founders who have not yet launched their ventures or secured significant funding. Existing organizations may also apply if their primary mission aligns with D-Prize’s focus on scaling evidence-based poverty interventions. However, organizations with over 18 months of full-time operations or more than USD 30,000 in external funding are generally not eligible. D-Prize strongly encourages applicants from low- and middle-income countries to participate, promoting local leadership in driving systemic social change.

How to Apply?

Applicants must download and complete the official application packet from D-Prize. Early submission is encouraged. Proposals should clearly outline the distribution model, implementation plan, and measurable impact.

Application Deadline

The early submission deadline is 23 November 2025 (midnight PT).
