Over the years, these initiatives have created a diverse and expansive alumni network, fostering professionals from various sectors, including the Tibetan Community-in-Exile and Bhutanese citizens. The Embassy actively supports alumni in driving social change through innovative projects, focusing on areas like entrepreneurship, education, environmental sustainability, youth empowerment, and women’s empowerment. By promoting collaboration and leveraging the alumni’s expertise, the Embassy seeks to create impactful, community-driven solutions for societal development.
About the Grant
The 2025 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF 2025) is a grant program designed exclusively for alumni of U.S. government-funded or sponsored exchange programs. It encourages teams of at least two alumni to collaborate on impactful social projects that align with program objectives. Supported under the Fulbright-Hays Act, AEIF aims to strengthen the alumni network by funding projects that address pressing community challenges outside the United States. Proposals must emphasize themes like education, youth empowerment, women’s empowerment, and entrepreneurship. The grant provides financial support ranging from $5,000 to $35,000 to bring these projects to life, enhancing the positive influence of U.S.-India collaborations.
Who can Apply?
Applicants must be alumni of U.S. government-funded or sponsored exchange programs and form teams of at least two members, with one designated as the team lead. Proposals should align with the outlined themes and involve activities conducted outside the United States and its territories. Teams must partner with a legally recognized non-profit or non-governmental organization meeting technical and legal requirements under Indian and U.S. regulations, such as FCRA compliance and registration in SAM.gov. For projects with an Indo-Pacific focus, alumni from other Indo-Pacific countries may be included. For-profit entities are not eligible, and applicants must adhere to all program guidelines.
