About Organisation
The Massage Therapy Foundation is dedicated to advancing the practice and knowledge of massage therapy through support for scientific research, education, and community service. Its initiatives aim to elevate the standards of the massage therapy profession and foster its integration into mainstream healthcare systems. By bridging the gap between therapeutic massage and communities, the Foundation seeks to highlight the vital role of massage therapy in promoting health and well-being. Its mission includes supporting partnerships between massage professionals and community-based organizations, encouraging the application of manual techniques to improve client health outcomes. Through its programs, the Foundation ensures that underserved populations gain access to therapeutic massage, thereby addressing societal inequities and enabling marginalized groups to achieve their health potential.
About the Grant
The Community Service Grants program of the Massage Therapy Foundation provides funding to promote access to therapeutic massage and bodywork for communities with limited or no access to such services. These grants aim to enhance health outcomes and well-being for marginalized populations and to introduce massage therapy in settings where it is not yet accessible. The program supports partnerships between massage professionals and nonprofit organizations, emphasizing projects that demonstrate sustainability beyond the grant period. Funds can be utilized for various project-related expenses, such as staffing, supplies, and travel, ensuring a measurable and positive impact within a one-year timeframe.
