This funding helps cover the travel and accommodation expenses of guest speakers who bring valuable insights into the dynamics of inclusivity in science. For European-based speakers, up to 1,000 euros is available, while overseas speakers may receive up to 2,000 euros. This financial aid ensures that topics of gender equality and diversity are integral parts of scientific discourse, offering a platform for experts who address these crucial matters.
Who can Apply?
The Women in Science Lectures is open to organizers of conferences that are part of the EMBO Courses & Workshop Programme. These organizers should be interested in inviting a scientist to speak on gender and diversity issues within the context of their EMBO-funded scientific events. Eligible applicants must be associated with an active EMBO Courses & Workshop event, seeking to add value through a lecture on inclusivity. Preference is given to those whose events have strong scientific content but also a dedicated focus on addressing gender disparity and diversity. Eligible speakers can be from European or international regions, with grant support adjusted based on the speaker’s location.
