The EEA Civil Society Fund supports civil society organisations working to strengthen democracy, human rights, public participation, and social inclusion across eligible European countries. Through targeted funding programmes, the Fund empowers non-profit organisations to address emerging societal challenges, promote civic engagement, and encourage collaboration among communities and institutions. One of its key priorities is improving public resilience against misinformation and disinformation by supporting organisations that promote media literacy, digital awareness, and democratic values. The Fund also invests in organisational capacity building, enabling civil society groups to deliver sustainable, community-focused initiatives that create long-term social impact.
About the Grant
The Countering Disinformation Grants Poland programme provides financial support to civil society organisations implementing projects that combat false and misleading information while promoting democratic participation and human rights. The initiative encourages innovative solutions that strengthen digital literacy, improve access to reliable information, and build public resilience against online manipulation and AI-generated misinformation. Approximately 30 grants will be awarded to projects that focus on awareness campaigns, education, research, fact-checking, and community engagement. In addition to project funding, organisations will benefit from dedicated capacity-building support to strengthen their long-term ability to address disinformation challenges across Poland.
Who can Apply?
The programme is open to legally registered civil society organisations operating in Poland, including associations, foundations, unions of associations, social cooperatives, Country Housewives’ Associations, and eligible faith-based organisations. Applicants must comply with Polish legal and governance requirements relevant to their organisational type. Organisations should have experience in areas such as media literacy, digital literacy, democracy, civic education, human rights, or public awareness. Applicants must demonstrate organisational capacity, present a clear project proposal, and show how their initiative will strengthen information resilience, responsible communication, and community engagement against disinformation.
How to Apply?
Eligible organisations should prepare a proposal outlining the disinformation challenge, project objectives, planned activities, expected outcomes, implementation strategy, organisational experience, and budget. Applications should demonstrate measurable impact, sustainability, and community benefit. Ensure all legal and eligibility requirements are met before submitting the proposal according to the programme guidelines before the closing date.
