About the Grant
ICSSR has announced the 2nd Call for Multi-Disciplinary Studies on Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) of India for 2025–26. The initiative aims to generate actionable insights into the lives, cultures, and challenges of PVTGs to inform effective policymaking. Projects may address themes like traditional knowledge systems, education, health, livelihoods, cultural heritage, and resilience. The program emphasizes fieldwork, inclusive participation, and grounded research approaches for real-world impact.
Who can Apply?
Eligible applicants include Indian researchers permanently employed or retired as faculty from UGC-recognized universities, deemed universities, affiliated colleges, ICSSR research institutes, or institutions of national importance. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in social or human sciences with proven research experience and publications. Independent researchers or retired officers may apply as Co-Project Directors in collaboration with eligible institutions. Proposals must meet ethical and plagiarism standards and include institutional approval.
