About Organisation
The International Visegrad Fund is an intergovernmental organization established by the governments of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia to promote regional cooperation and strengthen relationships among the Visegrad Group (V4) countries and their neighbors. Since its inception, the Fund has supported thousands of projects in education, research, culture, environment, and civil society development. Its mission is to foster collaboration built on shared values of democracy, sustainability, and mutual respect. The Fund provides grants, scholarships, and fellowships that encourage innovation, youth mobility, and intercultural understanding. It also plays a vital role in connecting people and institutions across Central and Eastern Europe, enabling joint projects that enhance creativity, dialogue, and inclusion. By empowering young people and communities, the Visegrad Fund contributes to a more cohesive and resilient region. Its initiatives—such as the V4 Gen Mini-Grant Program—focus on equipping youth with the knowledge, networks, and skills necessary to address contemporary challenges and shape a sustainable future grounded in cooperation and civic engagement.
About the Grant
The V4 Gen Mini-Grant Program is designed to support short-term mobility projects for youth aged 12–30 across the Visegrad region and neighboring countries. It promotes inclusiveness, intercultural learning, and active citizenship through cross-border initiatives. The program funds projects that bring young people together to explore shared histories, foster innovation, and strengthen democratic participation. Key thematic areas include sustainability and climate resilience, cultural exchange, heritage preservation, sports and well-being, community volunteering, and entrepreneurship. Projects must encourage collaboration among participants from at least two countries and include at least one public presentation or community event. The initiative aims to inspire young leaders to think globally while acting locally, enhancing cooperation and solidarity across borders. Grants can be used to cover costs such as transportation, accommodation, meals, materials, honoraria, and outreach or promotional activities. By offering accessible funding opportunities, the V4 Gen Mini-Grant Program nurtures creativity, intercultural understanding, and youth-led social innovation. The maximum grant amount per project is €10,000, depending on project scope and quality.
Who can Apply?
The V4 Gen Mini-Grant Program is open to youth organizations, NGOs, schools, informal groups, and institutions working with young people between the ages of 12 and 30 from Visegrad countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) and eligible neighboring regions. Applicants must propose short-term cross-border projects that involve direct interaction and cooperation among youth participants. Each project must include at least two partners from different countries, one of which must be a V4 nation. Eligible projects may include youth exchanges, creative workshops, cultural festivals, sports programs, or community-driven initiatives that promote civic participation and intercultural dialogue. All proposals should demonstrate clear learning outcomes, inclusive participation, and measurable community impact. The grant particularly welcomes projects involving diverse and underrepresented groups, including rural youth, minorities, and those with limited access to international mobility. Ineligible applicants include individuals without organizational backing, for-profit entities, and projects without an educational or collaborative element. The Visegrad Fund encourages early contact between potential partners to align goals, ensure feasibility, and create sustainable networks beyond the funding period.
How to Apply?
Applicants must register their draft project on My Visegrad at least two weeks before the deadline. After finalizing the joint proposal with partner organizations, they must complete and submit the full online application. Required details include project goals, participants, activities, budget, and expected outcomes. Successful applicants sign a grant contract and may begin implementation upon confirmation of funding.
Application Deadline
The final deadline to apply for the V4 Gen Mini-Grant Program is 15 November 2025. Early registration of draft project ideas is mandatory at least two weeks before submission.
