About Organisation

The UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women, managed by UN Women, is the only global grant-making mechanism dedicated to eradicating all forms of violence against women and girls. Established in 1996 by UN General Assembly resolution 50/166, the Fund provides crucial financial support to civil society organizations, particularly women-led and grassroots groups. Its mission is to catalyze transformative change by strengthening the leadership of feminist movements, expanding protection systems, and advancing innovative solutions that address violence across diverse contexts. By offering core and flexible funding, the Trust Fund enables organizations to sustain their institutional growth, amplify advocacy efforts, and ensure survivors have access to justice, protection, and comprehensive support services. To date, it has funded over 600 projects in 140 countries and territories, making a tangible impact in reshaping laws, policies, and social norms. The Trust Fund’s approach prioritizes collaboration, survivor-centered strategies, and capacity building to achieve sustainable progress in gender equality and human rights, with a special focus on communities most at risk, including women and girls with disabilities, Indigenous women, and those in conflict and crisis settings.

About the Grant

The UN Trust Fund has announced a new Call for Proposals aimed at investing in civil society leadership to end violence against women and girls. This four-year funding opportunity provides both core and flexible grants to strengthen the organizational sustainability and advocacy capacity of feminist and women’s rights organizations. With awards ranging between USD 150,000 and USD 800,000, the grant seeks to empower NGOs to deliver impactful interventions that address prevention, protection, and accountability in contexts where women and girls face heightened vulnerabilities. Beyond funding, the program emphasizes learning, knowledge exchange, and collective leadership, ensuring supported organizations can build long-term resilience while scaling evidence-based solutions. Priority will be given to initiatives that engage marginalized groups, foster survivor-centered responses, and strengthen systemic change through community-driven strategies, legal reform, and partnerships. By supporting organizations at local, national, and regional levels, the Trust Fund aims to shift power to civil society leaders and accelerate progress toward eliminating violence against women and girls in all its forms.

Who can Apply?

This call is open to civil society organizations (CSOs), including women’s rights groups, feminist networks, and community-based organizations, working in countries eligible under the program. Applicants must be legally registered NGOs or nonprofit organizations with demonstrated expertise in addressing violence against women and girls. Proposals should reflect a strong survivor-centered and rights-based approach, ensuring inclusivity of marginalized communities such as Indigenous women, persons with disabilities, refugees, internally displaced persons, LGBTQIA+ people, and those living in conflict or crisis settings. Organizations must demonstrate the capacity to manage multi-year grants, with clear governance and financial accountability structures. Both small and large organizations are encouraged to apply, as the program provides tailored grant sizes according to institutional capacity and project scope. Priority consideration will be given to women-led, grassroots, and youth-centered organizations, as well as applicants proposing innovative, scalable, and sustainable interventions that address systemic barriers to safety and equality. Multi-stakeholder partnerships and collaborative applications are also encouraged to maximize reach and impact.

How to Apply?
