About the Grant

The School of Law and Social Justice at the University of Liverpool is inviting applications for its International Visiting Research Fellowships for the 2025–26 academic year. These fellowships are designed to attract researchers from outside the UK to collaborate with faculty and research clusters within the School. Aligned with the university’s Global Strategy, this initiative particularly encourages applications from scholars based in the Global South. Fellows will have the opportunity to engage in a vibrant research ecosystem, contributing to ongoing projects and initiating new collaborations. Funded fellows may receive a stipend of up to £5,000, in addition to access to university facilities, library resources, and dedicated desk space. The fellowship offers a platform for joint research publications, development of funding proposals, and meaningful academic exchanges. Fellows are expected to actively participate in research events, deliver seminars, and contribute to the intellectual life of the School.

Who can Apply?

The fellowship is open to postdoctoral researchers or those with equivalent academic experience based outside the UK. Applicants must secure support from a permanent academic staff member within the School of Law and Social Justice at the University of Liverpool, who will act as their host. Fellowships are flexible in duration but must exceed two weeks to be considered. Successful candidates are expected to collaborate on research activities, participate in School events, and contribute to ongoing or new projects. This may include publishing joint research, engaging in collaborative funding applications, and delivering seminars or workshops. Additionally, fellows are required to acknowledge the School’s support in any resulting publications, write a reflective blog post, and submit a final report summarizing their contributions and outcomes.
