About Organisation
Belmont Forum is an international partnership funding transdisciplinary research to understand and address global environmental change. By participating in research calls and promoting open data, the Forum accelerates solutions to sustainability challenges.
About the Grant
The Belmont Forum, with the G20, launched a brand new program (FORESTS 2024) to address demanding situations in tropical forests internationally. It specializes in pressing issues like weather change, deforestation, and pollutants, spotting the important position those forests play for Indigenous people and nearby groups.
- AREA 1: Deforestation discount, advertising of sustainable improvement, and regionally-led economies.
- AREA 2: Ecosystem characteristic, connectivity, and climate exchange technology.
- AREA 3: Environmental justice and governance.
Who can Apply?
- A minimum of 3 individuals from three different countries.
- Involvement of at least 3 funding agencies required. Include a partner from a tropical region.
- Each consortium must have one lead responsible for communication and proposal submission.
- Check funding agency requirements. Consortia can request funding or in-kind support. – Additional individuals: Allowed, but a minimum of 3 core members must receive funding.
- Showcase strong integration of diverse disciplines.
- The Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-PI requires an eight-hour transdisciplinary training certificate.
- Encourage gender and geographic balance, and the participation of early career researchers.

This CRA has a two-stage submission process. Pre-proposal (mandatory for full proposal submission) and full proposals. Proposals can be written in English, French, Portuguese or Spanish and submitted online at link.
