About Organisation

The Yves Rocher Foundation, created in 1991 under the aegis of the Institut de France, works globally to preserve biodiversity and promote ecological awareness. Rooted in the philosophy of Yves Rocher, the founder of the eponymous botanical beauty brand, the foundation reflects a strong commitment to protecting the living world through nature-based initiatives. For over three decades, it has supported projects that safeguard ecosystems, preserve traditional knowledge, and promote environmental stewardship.

Among its most celebrated initiatives is the Prix Terre de Femmes, launched in 2001, which recognizes and rewards women who dedicate their efforts to protecting the environment. The prize has honored nearly 500 women across more than 50 countries, amplifying their courageous and innovative actions. Beyond financial assistance, the Foundation fosters a global network of changemakers, encouraging collaboration and collective impact.

The Foundation’s mission is to inspire concrete action for the planet by empowering individuals and communities. Its focus on women as key agents of change underscores the vital role they play in biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, and ecological resilience. Through initiatives like the Terre de Femmes Prize, the Yves Rocher Foundation continues to affirm its vision of a sustainable, equitable future where nature and humanity thrive together.

About the Grant

The Yves Rocher Terre de Femmes Foundation Prize 2026 celebrates women-led projects making a tangible impact on environmental protection. The 2026 edition unites both the France and International categories under a powerful theme: “the tree as the guardian of life.” Projects centered on trees—whether conserving forests, advancing agroforestry, protecting urban greenery, or preserving ancestral arboreal knowledge—are eligible.

This prize recognizes projects with measurable impact, strong community involvement, and a vision that strengthens biodiversity while ensuring ecological balance. Applicants may work individually or as part of a collective, but their efforts must be channeled through a nonprofit organization with at least one year of activity.

Winners will receive not just financial support but also access to a vibrant global community of like-minded environmental leaders. The five selected laureates will each be awarded €10,000 to expand the scope and impact of their initiatives. Beyond funding, the program fosters mentorship, networking, and visibility, giving winners a platform to inspire action worldwide.

Through this prize, the Yves Rocher Foundation emphasizes the critical role of women as changemakers and highlights the interconnectedness of ecological stewardship, social equity, and cultural preservation for the well-being of our planet.
