About the Grant

The Wildlife Conservation Program by the SBI Foundation seeks proposals to address critical challenges in biodiversity conservation across India. Key thematic areas include endangered species conservation, providing infrastructural support for conservation activities, and mitigating human-wildlife conflict through comprehensive science-based solutions. Funding support ranges from ₹1.00 Cr to ₹5.00 Cr per project, with a support duration of 2–3 years. Proposals are expected to focus on innovative, impactful, and sustainable conservation practices aligned with national and international priorities, such as the IUCN Red List and India’s Wildlife Action Plan.

Who can Apply?

NGOs meeting the following criteria are eligible to apply:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in successfully implementing CSR projects in wildlife conservation.
  • A dedicated team of environmentalists, ecologists, and biologists with expertise in species and ecosystems relevant to the project.
  • Proven knowledge of local flora and fauna, threats to biodiversity, and a strong presence in the proposed region.
  • Established relationships with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Activities must not involve sub-letting, sub-contracting, or outsourcing.
