About the Grant

The UN Women WeSTEM 2.0 project is designed to empower 2,500 young women from marginalized backgrounds, specifically those enrolled in STEM courses at ITIs and Polytechnics, in Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. The project aims to enhance their skills through vocational training, industry exposure, gender sensitization, and access to internships, apprenticeships, and job placements. With a focus on gender equality and women’s economic empowerment, WeSTEM 2.0 is set to bridge the gap between women and STEM employment. The program will support these women in developing 21st-century digital skills and improving their employability to ensure their successful participation in the formal economy.

Who can Apply?

The WeSTEM 2.0 project is open to organizations that have a minimum of 7 years of experience in managing large-scale skills development and placement projects, with at least 5 years of expertise in gender equality and women’s empowerment. Eligible applicants must have a demonstrated history of working on vocational training, capacity building, and placement initiatives. The project also requires familiarity with the local context and languages in Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. Additionally, organizations should have proven experience in collaborating with private sector companies, government ministries, and educational institutions for skill development and women’s empowerment. The team members involved in the project must have at least 5 years of experience in skill development and a background in women’s economic empowerment.

How to Apply?

Interested organizations should submit a proposal, outlining their experience in skill development and women’s empowerment, including their approach to implementing vocational training and placement programs for young women in STEM. The proposal should highlight the team’s qualifications and the proposed methodology for project execution.
