About the Grant
The SustainE Young Researchers Award is a prestigious initiative designed to honor exceptional early-career contributions to the field of sustainability. With the aim of promoting impactful, original research, the award recognizes outstanding work that advances sustainability knowledge and solutions.
Open to a variety of paper types—including research articles, review articles, case studies, and opinion pieces—the competition encourages broad participation from emerging scholars tackling diverse sustainability challenges. The selected best paper will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize and featured prominently in the SustainE Journal, enhancing its visibility across academic and professional circles.
In addition to the winning entry, the top 20 papers will be published, offering a powerful platform for young researchers to share their insights and amplify their voices. The winner will also benefit from personalized mentorship by experienced professionals in the field, receiving guidance to further develop their academic or professional journey.
Furthermore, SustainE will engage in extensive promotion of the winner’s work through press releases, social media campaigns, and featured articles. This grant is not only a recognition of academic excellence but also a career-enhancing opportunity for young sustainability professionals.
Who can Apply?
The SustainE Young Researchers Award is open to individuals who are under 40 years of age and actively engaged in sustainability research. Applicants must be the original authors of the work submitted and must not have previously published the paper elsewhere. This award is particularly designed to spotlight early-career researchers whose work demonstrates originality, depth, and practical relevance in any area of sustainability.

Submissions must be in English and comply with the formatting requirements set by the SustainE Journal. Papers should include a 250-word abstract that highlights the core contributions of the research and its potential societal or environmental impact. The maximum length for submissions is 10,000 words, which includes references, tables, and figures.
