Who can Apply?
The SBI Youth for India Fellowship is open to young individuals who are committed to creating social impact through rural development projects. Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree before October 1, 2025. The fellowship is available to Indian citizens, citizens of Nepal or Bhutan, and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI). Candidates must be between 21 and 32 years old at the start of the program, meaning they should have been born between August 5, 1993, and October 6, 2004. The ideal applicant should be passionate about working in rural communities, possess problem-solving skills, and be willing to adapt to rural life challenges. Prior experience in social work, leadership roles, or community engagement is beneficial but not mandatory. The fellowship seeks individuals with a strong commitment to social change and the ability to work independently while collaborating with NGOs and local communities. The selection process assesses motivation, leadership potential, and the ability to drive change in underserved areas. Applicants must be willing to dedicate 13 months to full-time engagement in rural development, working on innovative projects that address pressing socio-economic issues in villages.
