About the Grant
The Shiksharatan India Foundation is launching a large-scale scholarship initiative aimed at empowering students through education-focused financial and mentorship support. The scholarship program seeks to enable deserving students from Class 1 to Class 12 to pursue their academic goals without the burden of financial constraints. With an ambitious target of enrolling 1 crore students, the Foundation will award scholarships to 16,000 meritorious candidates, disbursing up to ₹11 crores in total.
In addition to direct student benefits, the program will recognize over 300 schools, educators, principals, and parents who significantly contribute to student development. Beyond scholarships, the initiative offers free mentorship, study resources, and skill-building workshops to enrich students’ learning journeys. The program will be executed in two phases — an offline, school-based assessment (Nov–Dec 2025) and an online, proctored examination (Feb–Mar 2026).
This grant also opens up collaboration opportunities for NGOs and partner organizations willing to support school registrations and student enrollment across various districts and states. These collaborations aim to foster inclusive and impactful educational outreach by forming strategic partnerships at the grassroots level.
Who can Apply?
The Shiksharatan India Foundation invites Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from registered NGOs and partner agencies with a strong track record in education and social impact. Applicants must be legal entities officially registered under Indian laws and should have at least one year of experience in relevant sectors such as education, student outreach, or community development.
Eligible organizations are expected to demonstrate prior success in executing impactful projects and must have the capacity to engage with schools and communities across designated districts. Key responsibilities will include facilitating school registrations, onboarding students into the scholarship program, and ensuring documentation and eligibility compliance.
To be considered, applicants must submit a detailed proposal including their organizational profile and a completed Form A1 (Annexure), outlining their proposed action plan for the project. The evaluation will be conducted in two stages: initial eligibility screening followed by a technical review of the proposal and form. Organizations that align with the program’s vision of equitable education access, leadership development, and student recognition will be prioritized.
