About Organisation

UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund, works globally to ensure the rights, wellbeing, and development of every child. In India, UNICEF collaborates closely with government bodies, civil society organisations, and community networks to enhance access to education, healthcare, nutrition, protection, and skill development. Its programs prioritise vulnerable and marginalised populations, addressing systemic barriers that limit opportunities for children and young people.

With a strong focus on innovation and digital transformation, UNICEF India supports initiatives that expand learning pathways, improve skill-based education, and foster employability. It also emphasizes gender equality, youth empowerment, and inclusive development. Through multi-state partnerships, UNICEF aims to build resilient ecosystems where young people—especially girls—can access quality learning resources and real-world skills. Its Passport to Earning (P2E) initiative is a flagship effort that delivers digital courses aligned with national standards, helping bridge the gap between education and workforce readiness.

About the Grant

The MOOC Based NOS-Aligned Digital Course Delivery grant supports the Passport to Earning (P2E) initiative, which equips young women in Rajasthan, Jharkhand, and Odisha with employment-focused digital skills. The programme aims to design, adapt, and implement high-quality online courses aligned with National Occupational Standards (NOS), especially at NSQF Level 4 and Level 5.

The grant enables organisations to create scalable Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) that combine vocational training, life skills, and industry-relevant competencies. This digital delivery model intends to reach young women facing social, geographic, or economic barriers, ensuring they gain market-ready skills and improved job prospects. The funded programme strengthens the skill development ecosystem by integrating assessments, certifications, and learner support systems.

This initiative supports India’s broader skilling agenda and advocates for accessible, inclusive, and gender-sensitive pathways for young learners to transition into meaningful employment.

Who can Apply?

Applicants must be India-based NGOs or Nonprofit Organisations with a strong track record in delivering NOS-aligned skill development programs. Organisations should demonstrate:

  • Proven history of working in vocational training, employability, youth skilling, or digital learning.

  • Ability to deliver programs in partnership with state-level bodies in Rajasthan, Jharkhand, or Odisha.

  • A strong understanding of sector-specific vocational needs and alignment with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) standards.

  • Adequate infrastructure for course hosting, content creation, learner support, monitoring, and reporting.

  • Experience working with girls and young women, preferably from underserved communities.
