Council members bring diverse perspectives to the table, serving as project managers and advisors while participating in meaningful projects. Their work enhances Bow Seat’s educational initiatives and engages their peers in environmental advocacy.
About the Grant
The Future Blue Youth Council offers young people the opportunity to earn up to $1,200 USD during their one-year term while contributing to environmental efforts. Members will engage in a variety of activities, including advising on educational programming, promoting community outreach through social media, and supporting a youth-led grantmaking program. This initiative fosters collaboration among youth environmentalists worldwide and equips members with skills in communication, teamwork, and critical thinking, all while gaining valuable experience within a nonprofit organization.
Who can Apply?
Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 21 and have participated in one of Bow Seat’s programs, such as the Ocean Awareness Contest or Fellowship Grant Program. While no specific background is required, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to creativity and environmental conservation. Successful applicants will be eager to collaborate with fellow Council members and Bow Seat staff, possess proficiency in English, and have reliable internet access. A one-year term commitment is necessary, along with attendance at meetings and fulfilling Council responsibilities.
