About Organisation

The World Health Organization (WHO) Global Noncommunicable Disease (NCD) Platform, in partnership with the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research and the World Medical Association, aims to combat the rising burden of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and mental health conditions. This platform works with researchers, policy-makers, and healthcare providers to promote integrated care pathways, focusing on prevention, early detection, and comprehensive treatment for NCDs and mental health challenges, especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

About the Grant

The WHO incentive grant for young researchers supports implementation research focused on integrated care pathways for preventing and controlling NCDs and mental health conditions. The goal is to build the capacity of researchers from LMICs to conduct studies that investigate cross-sectoral approaches for the prevention, detection, and management of NCDs. The research should focus on locally relevant, cost-effective interventions and promote collaboration among health systems, communities, and governments to enhance NCD management in LMICs. The grant encourages young researchers to explore the integration of NCD and mental health care and propose innovative, actionable solutions to scale up effective interventions.
