The European Commission is the executive branch of the European Union. They manage a variety of programs that support businesses and research initiatives. The Women TechEU project is one such program, designed to empower women leading deep tech startups.
About the Grant
The Women TechEU project offers €3 million in funding to support 160 early-stage, deep-tech startups founded by women. Selected startups will receive a €75,000 grant and access to a 6-month business development program.
This program includes mentorship, investor outreach, sales training, and other resources to help startups grow and succeed. The goal is to address the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs and to promote women in leadership positions within the deep tech sector.
Who can Apply?
- The Women TechEU project is open to women-led startups in deep tech from EU member states and Horizon Europe associated countries.
- The startup must be registered and operational for at least 6 months, but not yet in a rapid growth phase.
- Generally, this means startups founded within the last 8 years with limited funding (under €1 million) and still developing their minimum viable product.
- The founding team must include women in top leadership positions (CEO, CTO, etc.) and women must hold at least 25% ownership of the company.
