The funding amount can reach up to £3 million, and projects can last for a duration of up to five years. This one-off grant seeks to advance knowledge in a vital yet underexplored area of research.
Who can Apply?
Eligible applicants include established and mid-career researchers who have expertise in fungal research or related molecular mechanisms. Applicants may apply as individuals or as part of a team of 2-8 members, with the understanding that collaboration across disciplines is encouraged. The application must demonstrate a commitment to creating an inclusive and diverse research environment. Researchers who have taken career breaks or work part-time are also encouraged to apply, provided they can commit at least 20% of their research time to the project. However, applicants with ties to mainland China or who cannot ensure sufficient time for the proposed research are ineligible.
