About the Grant

The ETH4D Doctoral Mentorship Programme provides one-year mentorship opportunities to doctoral candidates from low- and lower-middle-income countries. The program pairs candidates with ETH Zurich professors, senior scientists, or postdocs who guide their research and provide technical support. This includes a 1-3 month research stay at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, where candidates can collaborate with their mentors. The grant covers travel, living, and research-related expenses, ensuring candidates have the resources to thrive during their mentorship. The goal is to help participants develop skills, expand their academic network, and build long-term collaborations that enhance their career prospects.

Who can Apply?

The ETH4D Doctoral Mentorship Programme is open to doctoral candidates from universities or research institutes in low- and lower-middle-income countries as per the OECD/DAC list, excluding upper-middle-income nations. Candidates must be enrolled in a doctoral program and sponsored by an ETH Zurich professor. The program prioritizes applicants from the least-developed, lower-income, and lower-middle-income countries.
