About the Grant

The Teachers Cannot Wait program, launched by Education Cannot Wait (ECW), is a new acceleration facility grant designed to address systemic challenges in education in emergencies and protracted crises (EIEPC). The grant focuses on strengthening teacher capacities in both formal and non-formal education settings, ensuring better support for teachers in these contexts. The program will synthesize evidence and promising practices to inform ECW’s future work and advocate for teacher-related issues through global reports and advocacy products. This grant aims to provide resources for teacher development at national and sub-national levels, focusing on countries with existing ECW investments. The grant will run for 3 years, with a total funding pool of USD 2.2 million.

Who can Apply?

This Request for Proposals (RFP) is open to all national and international organizations that can provide the required goods, services, or works. Organizations must be legally constituted or represented in the country where the services will be delivered. Successful applicants must be HACT-assessed as either “low” or “medium” risk, and must be able to register at the United Nations partner portal, passing core and PSEA assessments. Additionally, direct grantees may include other parties as implementing partners in line with their sub-grant policies. Organizations should demonstrate their capability in the areas specified in the workstreams outlined by ECW.

How to Apply?

Interested organizations must submit their expressions of interest (EOIs) according to the guidelines provided by ECW. Applicants must ensure their registration on the UN partner portal and complete the necessary assessments before applying. The submission should detail their experience, capacity, and proposed solutions for strengthening teacher capacity in emergency contexts.
