About the Grant
The Water Research Foundation is inviting applications for the Assessing Changing Salinity in Water Sources Program. The grant aims to evaluate the impact of salinity on drinking water sources, treatment processes, and water reuse applications. The project seeks to create a comprehensive overview of salinity risks, review current measurement parameters and research, investigate sources of salinity through case studies or modeling, and develop educational materials for stakeholders about salinity risks and mitigation strategies.
Who can Apply?
Applications are open to both U.S.-based and international entities, including educational institutions, research organizations, government agencies, and for-profit consultants. Proposals must demonstrate a commitment to enhancing understanding of salinity impacts on water resources. Notably, WRF enforces a Timeliness Policy; researchers with overdue ongoing studies without approved extensions are ineligible to participate in new proposals. Additionally, applicants must provide a matching contribution of at least 33% of the total project cost.
