The ASEAN Foundation, in collaboration with TikTok and SAP, has launched the ASEAN Social Enterprise Development Programme 4.0 (ASEAN SEDP 4.0). This initiative aims to strengthen social enterprises across the ten ASEAN countries by providing them with essential resources, mentorship, and funding. The programme is designed to foster entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic growth by supporting youth-led social enterprises that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It facilitates capacity-building training, market expansion, financial access, and international networking opportunities. The programme also engages social enterprises with policymakers, investors, and key industry leaders, enhancing their ability to create a lasting social impact. Through this initiative, the ASEAN Foundation is dedicated to empowering young entrepreneurs to drive change in their communities while promoting sustainable economic development across the region.
About the Grant
The ASEAN Social Enterprise Development Programme 4.0 supports youth-led social enterprises in the ASEAN region by offering mentorship, networking opportunities, and financial assistance. The programme aims to enhance productivity, innovation, and access to funding while fostering entrepreneurship. It provides customised training and expert mentorship from SAP and industry professionals, helping social enterprises refine their business models and scale their impact. Selected participants will also receive training in TikTok content creation and engagement strategies to expand their reach. Additionally, the programme includes networking opportunities with investors through business matchmaking sessions and engagement with ASEAN policymakers. The initiative seeks to strengthen the social enterprise ecosystem by supporting ventures that address pressing social and environmental challenges. Successful participants will have the opportunity to receive seed grants, with the top winner securing up to $7,000 in funding.
Who can Apply?
The programme is open to social enterprises operating within ASEAN countries and addressing one or more SDGs. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- The Founder, Co-Founder, CEO, or team members applying must be aged between 18 and 35 and must be nationals of an ASEAN country.
- Applicants must currently reside in one of the ten ASEAN nations: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, or Viet Nam.
- The Founder, Co-Founder, or C-level executive must commit to the entire programme cycle. Additional team members may also participate.
- The social enterprise must have a viable product that can be evaluated and presented. Generating revenue is preferable but not mandatory.
- Applicants must have a good command of English, as the programme is conducted entirely in English.
- The enterprise should demonstrate measurable social or environmental impact, with a focus on benefiting marginalized or vulnerable communities.
How to Apply?
Interested social enterprises must submit their applications following the guidelines provided by the ASEAN Foundation. The application process involves submitting details about the enterprise, its social impact, and its alignment with the SDGs.
Application Deadline
The deadline for applications is 31 March 2025. All interested candidates must complete their submissions before this date.
Last Date to Apply
Applications close on 31 March 2025. Late submissions will not be considered.
Grant Amount
The first-place winner will receive a seed grant of up to $7,000, while other selected social enterprises will be awarded mini-grants.
